Privacy policy

Relaytivity helps relay race teams plan and track race day. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific to how the app works.

What we collect

• Your account: your name and email address, from signing up or from signing in with Google. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Clerk; we never see your Google password.
• Your team's plan: what captains and teammates enter, such as the team name, runner names, paces, leg assignments, race settings, custom courses, and actual finish times.
• Team membership: who has joined each race's team and their role (captain or teammate).

We don't track your location. The “where's our runner” position is an estimate calculated from the schedule, not GPS. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't sell or rent your information.

How it's used

• To run the app: compute predictions, show the schedule and map, and keep your team in sync.
• To let captains share their race: teammates they invite, and anyone they give a fan link to.
• To contact you about your account or the service, if needed.

Sharing with your team and fans

Everyone on a race's team can see that race's plan. If a captain turns on a fan link, anyone with that link can view the race's schedule, runner names and map without signing in. Captains can turn fan links off or replace them at any time.

Services we rely on

These companies process data on our behalf to run the app:

• Clerk: sign-in and account security (session cookies).
• Supabase: our database, hosted in the United States.
• Vercel: hosting for the website.
• OpenFreeMap: map tiles; your browser requests map images from their servers.
• Google: only if you choose “Continue with Google”, which shares your name, email address and profile photo with us.

When we start charging for races, payments will be handled by Stripe; we won't store card numbers.

Cookies and your device

We use cookies only to keep you signed in. If you enter actual finish times without a signal, the app keeps them on your phone until it can send them, and it saves copies of pages so the schedule works offline. Signing out clears these.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account and team data while you use Relaytivity. To delete your account or a race, or to get a copy of your data, email joseph.payne@gmail.com. We'll handle it within 30 days.

Children

Relaytivity is meant for adults organizing relay teams. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let account holders know.
